Face it everyone wants to have six pack abs, but why do so many people fail at getting them and what do they have to do to get them?
This is a question a lot of people are asking and unfortunately a lot of people are getting the wrong answers thus doing the wrong things with zero results.
The answer most people are getting is to do crunches everyday and you’ll lose your stomach fat and get six pack abs but this isn’t even the last the thing you should do.
Getting six pack abs doesn’t have to be complicated at all, as a matter of fact if you follow the 3 simple rules for getting six pack abs I will show you in this article I guarantee you’ll get them.
But first of all I want you to understand that your abs will only be visible if you have a low body fat percentage, and it’s impossible to burn this body fat and especially stomach fat with ab specific exercises.
To get a low body fat percentage it does take some discipline, if you’re not willing or you can’t discipline yourself you won’t have any results.
The 2 biggest disciplines are of course eating healthy foods and doing the right and proper workouts.
You don’t have to make it complicated, and don’t listen to those fitness guru’s who sell bogus pills or magic ab belts or other new theory on getting six pack abs. You just need to get back to the basics.
Instead of doing ab specific exercises like crunches or sit-ups that train only a small muscle group you need to focus on full body exercises that increase your fat-burning, muscle building hormonal response and your metabolism.
Exercises like squats, lunges, deadlifts, snatches, upper body presses etc. all these exercises increase your metabolism and fat burning hormones and also indirectly train your abdominals too in some way.
After doing these full-body exercises you can train for about 5-8 minutes your abs specifically with ab exercises, but don’t make ab specific exercises your major workouts because you can’t burn enough fat with them.
Besides exercises the really important things is how you eat, it doesn’t matter if you do the right workouts if your diet is crap you won’t have results.
And this also doesn’t have to be complicated as the diet guru’s tell you. You don’t need any low-fat low-carb diet or anything similar to that.
Skip the processed food, junk food, deep fried, soda etc.
Instead eat
unprocessed food,
organic meat,
high nutrient density foods,
fruits and vegetables for your carbs intake,
Enough protein intake in every meal
High fiber to control the blood sugar
Healthy fats such as fats from nuts, seeds, organic free range eggs, fish oil, olive oils etc.
Following a healthy diet like this will stop the cravings for junk food and it will keep your hormones in balance.
So what you have to do is focus about 90% of your workouts on high intensity multi-joint resistance workouts like weight lifting.
And for the diet don’t restrict your body on any macronutrients like carbs of fats because your body need them to function properly.
If you think a food is unhealthy it probably is so don’t eat it.
Maintain a balance in your fat and carbs intake and eat enough proteins to make sure you create more muscle mass which increases your metabolism for burning fat.

A lot of people who are overweight and have excessive stomach fat are really desperate to burn all the fat and this leads to making the wrong eating decisions and choosing the wrong diets.
Especially the famous fad diets such as low-carb, low-fat, Jenny Craig’s etc.
But following these diets will not help you to burn fat although you will probably lose some weight with them but this isn’t fat that you’re burning but lean muscle loss and water from the muscle.
This will than make you gain more weight even faster when you start eating normal again because when you lose lean muscle your metabolism will decrease.
And you’ll start eating normal again at some point because just like most people you can’t handle all the cravings you get with diets like these.
Fortunately for you to flatten your stomach and get the body you want you don’t even need any fad diets.
The matter of fact is you just need to eat healthy and in the right way and you won’t have any cravings at all, it’s just a life style you need to get used to.
Do you think slim people always eat that little and always eat low-carb or low-fat? Do you think they have that much cravings as you do? Of course not! Most often they eat just enough and they eat 5/6 small meals a day to stay in shape.
Here are tips to start eating healthy.
1. Eat 5/6 small meals a day every 3 waking hours.
If you only eat 3 big meals a day like most people do you will raise insulin in your body which than will raise your blood sugar and this will make you more fat and keep you fat.
To keep the blood sugar low you need to eat 5/6 small meals a day.
2. Eat less calories
You need to decrease your calories but don’t decrease them too much. A good rule of thumb is not to decrease them more than 1000 of your normal intake.
That means if your normal intake is 3500 don’t get less than 2500 calories otherwise you will decrease your metabolic rate because your body will think you’re starving.
Also divide the calories into 5/6 small meals a day. If you need 2500 calories a day you should eat 6 meals of about 400 calories.
3. Have a good balance in your meals.
Eat enough healthy foods with enough proteins, healthy fats and carbohydrates.
Good protein foods are chicken breasts, turkey, fish.
Carbohydrates, make sure you eat more unrefined carbs and more protein and healthy fats with the carbs.
This will slow down the digesting of the carbohydrates which results in a steady insulin level. If you do this right, the excessive sugar will be used for your muscle after your worked, if you eat wrong it will be stored as fat.
Healthy fats. Include nuts, seeds, extra virgin oil, fish, peanut butter.
And eat a lot of vegetables, fruits and drink enough water eat least 2 liters a day.
And don’t forget that eating healthy only will not get you the best results you need to train for 3-4 days a week as well.
Having the right balance between your diet and workouts will get you the best results no matter how much fat you need to lose.
